Photographs relating to Sgt. G. Jeffrey who joined up in 1942 and served as a rear gunner with 90 Squadron (3 Group), operating from Tuddenham airfield near Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk.  One original photograph shows Jeffrey in flying kit (6 x 9.5cm, dated Dec. 1944 to rear), another original shows him with his crew - 10 x 7.5cm, all named to rear and dated May 1944.  A third original, approximately 11 x 9cm, shows him with two other crew, all in Beadon suits and 1941 pattern boots - the caption on the rear names them and states that 'the other 2 lads did not survive'.  The final two original photos (8.5 x 6.5cm, dated 9 Oct. 1951) show a crashed 7 Squadron Lincoln bomber in which Jeffrey was the sole survivor.  These original photographs come with approximately fifteen modern copy images.  Eight of these relate to 90 Squadron, some are captioned on the back.  The remainder relate to 7, 166 and 192 Squadrons etc.  The photos come with a letter written by Jeffrey to Aviation dealer Michael Young to whom, these were originally sold.  Stock code P23512.
