Press photo on card.  Approximately 25 x 20cm.  Shows the visit of Air Commodore Right Honorable Winston Churchill to No. 615 Squadron at Kenley c. April 16th 1939.  A few months prior to the outbreak of WW2 and before Churchill was the Prime Minister.  Churchill can be seen being helped from the open cockpit aircraft.  He is wearing a 1930 pattern flying helmet with MK.III goggles and a seat-type parachute harness over an overcoat and pin-striped suit!.  The pilot has a white prestige suit with squadron badge and commercial flying headgear.   Good condition bar light soiling and pin holes to each corner.  Captioned to rear 'The Rt. Hon. Winston Churchill, who has just been gazetted Hon. Air Commodore to No. 615 Auxiliary Royal Air Force Squadron at Kenley, today paid a visit to the Squadron'.   Stock code P21279
