Press photo - RAF airman astride a large bomb

Press photograph, approximately 25.5 x 20cm.  This great image shows a Canadian Sergeant airman sitting astride a huge bomb prior to a raid.  He is wearing full flying kit including a B-type helmet with a carbon microphone dangling on the wiring loom (not attached to a mask), 1936 pattern boots, 1941 pattern 'Flap Type' Mae West and an Observer parachute harness.  The photograph is captioned on the back and entitled ' The stuff to give 'em'.  It also has censor stamps and is dated 25 November 1941/2.  A bit dog-eared at the edges but in pretty good overall condition.  Stock code P22873-106
