Rare linen backed paper blood chit, approximately 18 x 25cm. Coded '46/PIA/1/1750/7-42'. Issued for use by British aircrews flying missions over North Africa and the Middle East. In the event of direct contact with the locals this would hopefully keep the airman safe in return for a reward from the British Government. It has text in Arabic, two versions of Persian and English with the British Government 'seal'. Issued from July 1942, this would have seen most use over Persia (Iran) and Iraq. Folded and creased but it displays very well and is in good overall condition. Stock code E27571.
