Stores reference 27C/2125. Manufactured by Joseph Rogers of Sheffield. Small Mae West / dinghy knife with an orange painted wooden handle and a curved blunt ended stainless steel blade approximately 6cm in length (overall length 14.7cm). The handle has a channel cut within it to accomodate a cord lanyard, secured in place with cloth tape (cord absent). It comes in its original leather scabbard with press studded securing strap. Similar knives (fitted with an additional puncture knife/blade), were used by the FAA, often seen attached to the right breast of the 1941 pattern Mae West. This example was never fitted with such a blade and the date is unknown. Probably late war to mid 1950s? Very faint markings on the blade. Very good condition. Stock code S24693.
