RAF survival kit issued to airmen and included as part of the Lightweight Flying Overall (Beadon suit) equipment.  Comprised of a plastic/acetate container approximately 14 x 12 x 2.5cm.  Contents varied depending on where the airman was deployed but this example has contents appertaining to use with the Beadon suit.  These include a war department marked razor/handle with single and double edged blades; a spare torch bulb (stores ref. 105L/181), MI9 pattern escape/evasion compass sealed in waterproof material (stores ref. 22P/15); plastic water carrier (stores ref. 22P/18); fishing line/tackle (stores ref. 22P/8); heliograph (stores ref. 27H/2107); burning lens (stores ref. 14A/3437); sharpening stone, shaped, No.5 (stores ref. 1B/3949); snare (stores ref. 22P/7); water purifcation tablet, small bandage roll and matches sealed in a plastic container.  The kit appears to be near complete and the contents are generally very good.  The container itself has some discolouration and degradadation to the acetate and the upper 'lid' is absent.  Now extraordinarily rare to find, particularly with most of the contents remaining.  Don't miss this one.  Stock code S27183-34.
