RAF 1932 pattern Mae West - reproduction

Code: MW24798

SOLD

Reproduction 1932 pattern Mae West.  I believe this example was made by Paul French whose copies are regarded as some of the best available, being accurate in pattern and construction, using carefully chosen fabrics, hand-dyed and rubberized to the rear. It also has individually cast buckles, a printed label, and a period 'Lightning' zip.  The user instructions are in the correct font and sized/spaced as per originals.  It also contains a set of reproduction 1932 pattern kapok pads. Examples of his Mae Wests can be seen in the excellent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge in Kent.  Condition is excellent, it has been displayed but essentially is 'as new'.  These reproductions were produced in low numbers and are rarely seen for sale.  If you are in the market for a 1932 pattern Mae West but cannot find, afford or justify the cost of an original, this is most definitely your best bet.  Stock code MW24798.
