Stores Ref. 22c/227. Size 7. 1940 dated. Classic Battle of Britain boots identical in pattern to the earlier 1936 pattern but with vulcanized canvas uppers. The leather shoe section is in very good condition with only minor wear and tear. The canvas uppers are also very good, they are a little grubby and have some wear/rubbing at the ankles - see photos. This pair is fitted with the earlier canvas top strap rather than the black leather version. The linings appear to have suffered some moth damage - the right boot is quite good with relatively low loss of fur but the left boot has lost fur along the inner rear seam and in the ankle area. Both boots have insoles but the one in the left boot is dusty and lacks fur. The original soles and heels are worn but undamaged. Complete with clear Air Ministry King's crown markings and 1940 date code in each boot. A good/good '+' used pair of these rare early boots. Treated with moth killer/preventative spray as a precaution. Stock code B20675.
