CO2 cylinder for the stole (bladder) used within the Combined Flying Jacket, Light Webbing Harness, (Harnessuit). Similar in appearance to a 1941 pattern Mae West cylinder but much bigger measuring approximately 6.25" in length x 3/4" diameter (15.5 x 1.8cm). The black painted steel cylinder is sealed with a hollow copper plug with an integral partly bored threaded stem projecting from the neck. This thread allows the cylinder to be screwed into an inflation lever. This example is 'live' and has some paint loss and surface corrosion.
