By Joseph Rodgers & Sons of Sheffield, 'Cutlers to His Majesty'. Stores reference 27C/2125 (knife), 27C/4486052 (scabbard). Special knife issued to Fleet Air Arm aircrew for use on their 1941 pattern Mae Wests (see photograph No.10). It has an orange painted wooden handle and stainless steel curved blunt-tipped blade with holes along its length. With cord lanyard attaching it to the leather scabbard which in turn is attached to a proofed fabric patch which could be glued and/or stitched to the right breast of the Mae West. The knife would originally have had a second smaller pointed knife mounted within a groove in the handle but this is absent. Well marked. Very good to excellent used condition. Stock code 23617.
