The 7th Air Force was made active on 1 November 1940, as the Hawaiian Air Force, to control the growing number of air units arriving in the Territory of Hawaii that year. Its airmen became America's first to come under enemy fire in the infamous surprise air attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan in December 1942. Stock code U17635.
