Small grouping to Flight Officer Robert C. Garberich (Air Cadet Service No. 33 499 995, Flight Officer Service No. T127541), born 1922, who enlisted in February 1943, completed Bombardier training with class 44-8DR at San Angelo Field, Texas and was promoted to Flight Officer on 10th June 1944.  He served with the 423rd bomb squadron, 306 Bombardment Group (H), 8th AAF on B-17 Flying Fortresses and was discharged from service on 26th September 1945.  Consists of his class yearbook with embossed cover and pages of photos showing the staff, life on the field and all of the trainee bombardiers for the year - all in A-2 flying jackets with parachute harnesses, garrsion caps and headsets.  Garberich is pictured and some of his friends have signed their photos in the book too.  Also come with his Sterling silver clutch-backed (also sterling marked) bombardier's wing and his cased and named Air Medal with lapel ribbon badge.  The Air Medal was instigated in 1942 and awarded for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. A nice grouping in very good condition.  This really needs further research.  Stock code P24199.
