Manufactured by Abrams Instrument Co., Lansing, Michigan. The clever design allows the viewer to be stored flat. A hinged arm can be moved into an upward position from the base and the eyepieces rotated ready for use. The frame of viewer is made in black painted cast white metal and incorporates a large stable open base c/w AAF marked ID label is attached to the edge. Some loss of paint but in very good overall condition with original issue leather case. Used by photo-reconnaissance staff to view aerial photographs for interpretation purposes. The use of these helped to acertain accuracy of bombing, pinpointing of targets and so on. One of the rarer stereoscopic viewers. Stock code M26453.
