Manufactured by The American Display Co. of Dayton Ohio. Collapsible cadmium plated steel rod that can be used as a short weapon, spit for cooking or a as a fishing spear or gaff when combined with the hook set contained in a small metal box. For spearing fish, the length of the shaft extends in 5 sections to approximately 67cm and may be extended to 6 or 7 sections by screwing the contents of more kits or by the addition of a wooden pole. The spit, with eyelet attached, can be used as a fishing pole if no wooden pole is available. Spits were placed in pocket No.3 of the C-1 survival vest, Gaffs in pocket No.15. Storage wear only. The spit is still boxed and the hooks remain sealed inside the issue tin that will also contain full instructions. Stock code S19391.
