Manufactured by U.S. Lite-Ray Co. of Dayton Ohio.  Collapsible cadmium plated steel rod that can be used as a short weapon, spit for cooking or as a fishing spear or gaff when combined with the hook set contained in a small metal box.  For spearing fish, the length of the shaft extends in 5 sections to approximately 67cm and may be extended to 6 or 7 sections by screwing  the contents of more kits or by the addition of a wooden pole (only one kit available). The spit, with eyelet attached, can be used as a fishing pole if no wooden pole is available.  Spits were placed in pocket No.3 of the C-1 survival vest, Gaffs in pocket No.15.  Storage wear only.  The spit is still boxed and the hooks remain inside the issue tin with full instructions.  Stock code S21160.
