Survival fishing kit issued to servicemen by American Sportsmen through the International Game Fishing Association and American Museum of Natural History and distributed by the American Red Cross. Contained in a olive drab green cotton drawstring bag there are two wooden 'reels' of heavy duty line, one with weights, one with a small 'fish-like' lure. Also included is a tube containing lead weights/hooks, a net and a large metal 'spear' tip with barb. The set comes with an instruction sheet with advice on how to fish and what is safe to eat. Overall condition is very good, though the instructions are tatty. This belonged to a 8th AAF bombardier. Stock code M21159.
