Helmet, Flying, Summer, Type A-9.  Size medium.  Green cotton helmet, field modified with the addition of pressed leather earcups.  This example is a first pattern helmet that does not have 'cut-outs' at the cheek.  Complete with all straps/hooks for attachment of the A-8A, A-9 and A-10 oxygen masks. Modified with additional press studded webbing tapes stitched in place to accept the A-10A, A-10R  & A14 mask. The cloth is generally clean and other than a small tear at the right cheek, is free of damage. The helmet retains both of the laces around the face opening and neck. Light verdigris and corrosion on some metalwork.  No fleece pad on the leather chinstrap but with fleece ear pads.  Wired with an HS-18  assembly comprised of a standard 'Y' loom, matched early R-14 receivers by Kellogg S. & S. Co. and black PL-54 jackplug.  Note that the leather earcups have been modified with cut-outs to allow for the greater depth of the R-14 receivers over standard AN-H-15s.  A good '+' helmet.  Stock code H23773.
