Vest, Pneumatic Life, Type B-4. By The New York Rubber Corp. Date of manufacture appears to be August 1943 and it is certainly a relatively early example with no 'top' strap or dye packs fitted. The material is in excellent flexible condition with good colour but is a little soiled. The vest retains the securing straps, all of which are in very good condition. It also has both CO2 bottle holders complete with screw-on covers and pull-strings. Both inflation tubes/valves are present and in excellent flexible condition. The vest has various AAF stamps/inspection marks and later inspection dates. Procured specifically for use by the AAF whereas the later AN6519-1 was also used by the USN. A very good example.
