RAF C-type Flying Helmet - Late Pattern

Stores Ref. 22c/880, Size 4, (7^1/2 - 7^3/4). The leather is good to very good condition - a little dry to the touch perhaps but supple and quite clean. Minor wear in places and a couple of small surface nicks to the crown area (see photo). All straps are good and retain most of the original coatings on the press studs. The lining has average soiling with more on the donuts and nape of the neck. There are couple of small and insginificant holes. Named to the owner. The rubber receiver carriers have lost some flexibility and the receivers would be best left in place. The chinstrap is rather grubby and has only a little elasticity remaining. Fully wired with a mid tan coloured loom, receivers and early brown cased bell jackplug. Overall this is a good/good '+' used example in the largest size produced. Stock code H18956.
