RAF 1930 Pattern Sidcot Flying Suit

SOLD

Code: S18950

Stores Ref. 22c/313. Size 4 (?). Early wartime version of the Sidcot produced in grey green rubberised cotton as used for the 1932 pattern Mae West. The material is in very good overall condition - a little faded in places and with some light soiling and marking but no damage. The internal rubberising is shedding a bit as usual. The suit retains its cloth hanger and all of its buttons but lacks the label. There is a faded '4' and 'A.M.' marks to the lining. All zips are original Air Ministry/D-o-T and are in good condition. The lining also appears to be in very good clean condition. This example has been personalized with the name 'Middleton' neatly painted or stencilled to the rear - very unusual to find. Overall this is a very good used example of the scarce 1930 pattern 'Battle of Britain' suit. It is being sold without a collar but we can provide a suitable example at extra cost. Stock code S18590.
