Acme Thunderer 'Ditching' Whistle

English made solid brass 'snail' whistle with chromed split ring and cork 'pea'. Engraved 'The Acme Thunderer'. Direct from the old owner of a government surplus shop first opened in the 1920s! As used on the Mae West and Battledress - not all aircrew used the official whistle. Acme Thunderer's seemed to be particularly popular with USAAF 8th Airforce crews. Shows age and use with tarnishing. Minor corrosion of split ring. Would clean up very well if desired. Good to very good used. Approx. a third of the price of an AM marked whistle. Stock code MW19481.
