It is stated that Britain's latest fighter aircraft, the Boulton-Paul ''Defiant'' went into action for the first time over the Dutch coast during the weekend, and won ''hands down'', against a German Junkers 88. ''Defiant'' is the first fighter to be equipped with a power-controlled gun-turret.' Also date stamped to rear 14 May 1940 and with London News Agency stamp. The photo shows a Defiant on the ground. Good clear image. Some light creasing and dog-eared corners. Small edge tear to right edge, repaired using acid-free archival tape. Stock code P19418.
