Size 12. Air Ministry Spec. 729/NA/1. Air Ministry & war department marked. Unusual and sought after pair of Brogue Wader ankle boots issued along with a special rubberized suit & lifejacket/bouyancy aid to RAF & WAAF groundcrews responsible for bringing flying boats to their moorings. Manufactured in brown leather and stiff canvas with a lace-up front covered by a canvas tongue and secured with twin buckled straps. Leather soles & heels are studded with hob nails. Very heavy boots with strong rigid toe-caps and lower side sections that are vented with eyelets. Minor storage wear and some corrosion to the metal studs. Probably unissued. As seen on display at the RAF museum at Hendon, London. Rare to find. Stock code B16457
