Miles Aircraft Limited Wall Clock/Timer

Bakelite cased wall clock approx. 17cm diameter. White dial with Arabic numerals in black marked from 5 to 60. Single seconds hand. Marked to lower edge of dial 'MILES AIRCRAFT LIMITED - READING - ENGLAND'. Metal plate to rear with hanging slot. Spring loaded 'interupter' knob at the top of the case. Contains an electric movement and is wired to a 3 pin plug (the latter is evidently a more modern addition). Good overall condition and does appear to work if plugged into the mains. That said, the wiring is similar to 'bell-wire' and the buyer should consult a qualified electrician if intending to to use. Miles Aircraft Limited produced aircraft at their factory in Reading between 1919 and 1948. The designs include many well known models used by the RAF including the Hawk, Kestrel, Master Trainer & Master Fighter, Martinet & Monitor Target Tug etc. Nice period piece from this long lost company.
