RAF Officer's Washing Bowl

By Mintons China. Large white ceramic bowl/basin approx. 39cm/15.5@SPEACH@ diameter x 14cm/5.5@SPEACH@ height. King@APOS@s Crown R.A.F. winged crest in gilt to the inside, approx. 7cm/3@SPEACH@ span. Gilt rings at the rim, base and side. Overall condition is good. There is a mnor @APOS@blemish@APOS@ on the rim but no cracks and the bowl @APOS@rings@APOS@ brightly if tapped. There is however wear and crackling/crazing of the glaze. The winged crest and base ring are excellent but the other gilt rings are rubbed/worn. The bowl would have been used in conjunction with a large ceramic jug. This is the earlier pattern - later examples having a simple @APOS@R.A.F.@APOS@ crest in place of the wings. Probably dates from the 1920s or early 1930s. The jug shown (later pattern) is for illustrative purposes only and is not included in the sale. Rather heavy at around 2.5kg without packaging.
