USAAF AN-S-31/AN6550 Summer Flying Suit

SOLD

Code: SOLD-1477

Size unknown but measures approx. 40@SPEACH@ at the chest (pit to pit, zipped) and 34@SPEACH@ at belt height. Introduced in April 1943 to replace the A-4 this is a one-piece zip fronted olive drab gabardine/wool suit with buttoned, flapped pockets at the chest and lower legs. Buttoned ankle straps. Overall condition is fair/reasonable. There are some frayed/snagged areas, small holes and repairs - notably to the left chest pocket. In addition, the zip flap has been shortened (see photo) and both the label and belt are missing. Perhaps the most widely used suit by the AAF during WW2. Not the greatest suit but perfectly displayable and priced accordingly. Stock code S9915.
