Approx. 18 x 15 x 8cm. Blue painted metal tin with hinged lid. Marked to the lid with a red cross, Air Ministry King@APOS@s Crown markings and wording @APOS@FIRST AID OUTFIT - AIRCRAFT DINGHY LARGE (4 - 10 MEN) - BOTTOM LEFT BRIGHT FOR HELIOGRAPH PURPOSES@APOS@. Has light surface corrosion and wear. Base stamped with George VI cypher and 1943 date. The tin is complete with contents including a card box of white absorbent wool; boxed sterilized large lint burn dressing; 2 x boxed large No.9 large wound dressings; 4 x boxed medium wound dressings; 3 x boxed No.11 burn dressings; tube of Tannic Acid Jelly (deteriorated) in card box; tourniquet; packet of plain white lint; packet of safety pins; 3 x iodine ampoules; 4 x capsules of aromatic ammonia and 1943 dated Ampoules (syringe) morphia in tin complete with administration labels. Finally the original and very rare scissors are contained within the lid. These are war department broad arrow marked and 1944 dated. A super, comprehensive first aid kit in very good overall condition. These were issued/used with the large multi-man dinghies. Stock code M15930.
