RAF K-type Dinghy Spray Shield/Hood, Boxed

Stores ref. 27C/2100. Spray shield and hood as fitted to the K-type dinghy. Produced in a rubberized fabric these were simply glued to the dinghy. Early dinghies did not have these and some were retro-fitted. The hoods were also prone to damage, hence replacements. This was sealed in the box of issue until opened in November 2012. The hood is essentially as the day it was packed, folded and copiously coated in French chalk. That said, it has now stiffened. If the buyer intends using the hood it will need to be soaked in warm water overnight to carefully unfold. Attempts to unfold without soaking will certainly result in damage. Stock code S17505.
