RAF Beadon Flying Suit Folding Machette

Stores ref. 1B/4665. By Cutler (?). War department broad arrow marked and 1944 dated. Large machette with single folding blade. Black plastic grips with metal loop to the end through which a leather wrist thong could be attached. Overall size (opened) is approx. 40cm and 29cm when closed. Pitting and wear to the metalwork and blade which has also been sharpened. The plastic grips have some cracks adjacent to fixing rivets. No blade guard (removeable metal cover). Clear WD markings and date. These knives were issued as part of the Beadon Flying Suit (Lightweight Flying Overall) and carried in the lower pocket on the left leg. Stock code S14844.
