USAAF 8th AAF 486BG Uniform/Paperwork

Comprises an @APOS@Ike@APOS@ jacket (Jackets, Field, Wool, O.D), by Herman D Oritsky, Size 36L. 1944 dated. This has a lovely English made 8th AAF felt shoulder patch, screw backed @APOS@U.S.@APOS@ & winged prop collar insignia and sergeant stripes. With this comes the same man@APOS@s O.D wool shirt with sergeant stripes and good felt AAF patch, his trousers (33x33@SPEACH@) and tan woollen tie. With the uniform came some loose insignia - 2 ruptured duck discharge patches, 3 overseas bars and ribbons for good conduct and ETO (plus 2 stars) medals. In addition there is paperwork to the owner, Sergeant James M. Titterington who served as a groundgrew photographer with the 834th Bomb Squadron, 486th Bomb Group based in Sudbury, Suffolk (Station 174) - (B-17s, B-24s). This includes his WD Basic Field Manual (Soldier@APOS@s Handbook) dated 1941 and named to him; , ETO Ration Card named/dated 1945 - 834th Bomb Squadron; Shoe Purchase Certificate; 48 hour Pass for Paris dated June 1945; , Permanent Pass - AAF Overseas Replacement Depot - dated Sept. 1945; Tobacco Ration Card, Troop Assignment Card, AAF Warehouse Receipt For Bedding c.1945; Army Exchange Service Ration Card & his Immunisation Card. Most of these items are named to him and dated. The uniform items are in very good overall condition and some are marked with his service number. Titterington worked as a photographer and in the processing labs. We sold an album of superb photographs to this man some years ago. This had aerial target photos, nose-art photos and others around Bury St Edmunds etc. With the uniform and paperwork come a few photocopied shots of Titterington at work , a copy of a newspaper article about his work with the 8th etc. Nice original grouping.
