R.A.F. Single Seat Survival Dinghy

SOLD

Code: SOLD-947

Unknown type/date but probably 1970s/80s. A direct descendant of the wartime Type K this example is manufactured in black and orange rubberized material. It has an integral sprayshield cape and apron that can be inflated orally by the occupant to create a @APOS@tent@APOS@ around themselves - photo 1 shows the cape and apron partially inflated whilst photo 4 shows it deflated. Comes with original primed/live CO2 cylinder (6D/9430549) with various test dates (last primed Aug. 1996). The dinghy also has an oral inflation top up tube so that the occupant can maintain pressure. Two rectangular box shaped water chambers to the base of the dinghy help maintain stability and a drogue helps to prevent drift. Also comes with a hand operated concertina-type inflation bellows to maintain pressure (stores ref. 27C/2317) and some repair patches/material. The dinghy will inflate manually, as will the cape/apron but I do not know how long it will stay inflated - main dinghy certainly still holding air 24 hours later. The cape/apron does appear to have been re-glued to the dinghy in places. The Co2 cylinder is untested. Potential purchasers from outside the UK should note that we cannot ship the cylinder overseas so this will be excluded if purchased with a small discount & lower postal rates. Overall condition is good used/untested. Stock code S17705.
