Japanese Army Winter Flying Suit

SOLD

Code: SOLD-876

One-piece electrically wired winter issue flying suit in a heavy olive drab wool gabardine material. It has a zip fastener from the crotch to the neck and a concealed buttoned fly entry. Both sleeve and legs have zip closures. Buttoned collar flap and @APOS@open@APOS@ pleat fronted knee pockets. Zipped side @APOS@entry@APOS@ pocket slits at the waist. Belt with white metal pronged buckle. Large zipped pockets on each side of the chest. Lined with a soft short-pile wool fleece. Dense genuine animal fur collar. The material is in super condition - very clean and with only a few small slits/cuts at the back of the right leg (see photo for example). All zips are original, retain their original cloth tabs and are in good working order. Light moulting to the lining. Excellent collar. Whilst the belt is of the correct pattern it is a different shade of green - possibly not original to this suit? The buckle has surface corrosion. This suit is wired for use with electrically heated gloves and boots. It is fitted with leather panels having press stud connectors at the inside of the wrists and ankles (see photos). The main wiring loom has been cut off where it exits the suit (right rear near waist - see photo). There are ink stamped Kanji marks inside the main front zip flap but they are difficult to decypher. Overall this is in excellent lightly used condition. A superb display piece in what appears to be a relatively large size. Stock code J16505.
