FAA / RAF C-type Flying Helmet, Early Patt.

SOLD

Code: SOLD-731

Extremely rare early pattern zip-eared C-type. The leather is generally in good condition - quite clean, very supple and undamaged bar minor abrasion and nicks etc. It does however feel slightly @APOS@tacky@APOS@ to the touch. Fitted with 4 goggle straps in good condition although there is some loss of the original press stud coatings. Very good chinstrap complete with metal end tip. The Bennett buckle is also good. The zip-ear pieces are in good condition bar a small repair to the base of the right one and a larger old repair on the left earpiece (see photo). The zips appear undamaged but are stiff/closed and I don@APOS@t want to force them. Within the earpieces is a pair of RCAF sponge cushions and the receiver carriers can be felt from the inside of the helmet. The lining is quite soiled and has some damage/loss of chamois near the chintab. Clear FAA Crown/Anchor stamp on the outerside of the chintab. Sold unwired and without receivers. A good used example of a very rare helmet variant. Stock code H17230.
