Stores ref. 22c/584, size 4. Intended for use in tropical/desert climates in the Middle East, Mediterranean, North Africa etc and incorporating a neck flap at the rear to provide sun protection. The material is in in very good condition bar some soiling and rust staining. Good straps - all the press studs retaining the majority of their original coatings. The rubber receiver carriers on this first pattern helmet are stitched externally and have a large exposed @APOS@flange@APOS@. They are in very good condition. The satin lining is good bar light soiling - the inner donuts in this one are also in satin. Both felt panels (inner forehead area and back of chintab) have some moth damage (see photos). The leather chinstrap is in good order and retains the metal end tip. The Bennett buckle is excellent. The helmet is studded for use with both the Type D oxygen mask and later E and G-series masks. Fully wired with pink flecked mid tan @APOS@external@APOS@ loom, 10A/12443 receivers and excellent brown cased jackplug. No microphone fitted. A.I.D. marked. A very good used early helmet.
