R.F.C. 'Fug' Flying Boots

SOLD

Code: SOLD-373

Stores Ref. 22c/4. @APOS@Boots, Flying, Thigh@APOS@. By Beal Bros. Ltd. Toronto, Canada. Thigh length, suede, sheepskin lined boots widely used by British aircrews in WW1. Often seen in period photographs with the trademark long leather flying coat. Various different styles/patterns were made but most had a two-tone appearance with a different type of leather/suede used for the shoe section to that of the main body of the boot. In addition most have stitched leather soles, a buckled strap over the top of the shoe section and a similar strap just below the knee. A small inverted @APOS@V@APOS@ shaped strap/buckle was stitched to the top outer edge of the boot - this could be connected to the wearer@APOS@s other clothing using a separate strap. This pair have a sandy coloured suede shoe section with chestnut brown suede uppers. They retain both of the lower straps and the full upper leg sections of the boots complete with top attachment strap/buckle. The boots are a little soiled in places and show light wear and use but are in exceptional condition complete with Canadian maker@APOS@s labels and war department marks. One of the finest pairs of Fug boots you are likely to find - ever. The payment arrangements on this item are different to normal. Please do not complete checkout payment but await instructions from us once you have reserved the boots.
