Japanese Naval Summer Flying Suit

SOLD

Code: SOLD-331

One-piece summer issue flying suit in a heavy brown/green tint wool gabardine material. It has a zip fastener from the crotch to the neck, concealed in use with a buttoned fabric wind flap. Both sleeve and legs have zip closures. Buttoned collar flap and buttoned pleat fronted knee pockets. Side @APOS@entry@APOS@ pocket slits (again buttoned) at the waist. Belt loops but no belt. Buttoned patch pocket to the left breast & with cloth name patch sewn above (no name). Lined with a semi-padded/quilted black cotton. Overall condition is good. The material is sound with only a few small holes/nicks etc. It is faded and quite stained in places - these look like water marks and it might improve with a careful wash. All zips are original. The main works freely about half way and might go further with care and attention. The slider on one leg zip has come off one side of the tape - this is quite an easy fix. All the other zips appear to be fully functioning and all of the buttons are present. Aside from a few small holes the lining appears to be very good and complete with size/date tag sewn inside. The kanji translating to size large and a 1944 date. A nice example of this suit and a relatively large size. Stock code J15448.
