RAF B-type Flying Helmet (With Modifiers)

SOLD

Code: SOLD-284

By The Reliance Manufacturing Co. 1941. Size 3. The overall appearance is very good and the leather is supple with good original finish. Both zipped earpieces are good, faintly A.M. stamped, have good zips and are fitted with an excellent set of RCAF marked sponge rubber earieces. The rubber receiver carriers are both still present although not stitched in place. All straps are very good as are both Bennett buckles. The chinstrap is lacking the metal end tip. Internally the chamois is quite soiled - particularly in the crown area. Unfortunately both of the inner chamois @APOS@donut@APOS@ earpads have been carefully removed. This is not an issue when displayed as these are not visible when worn. Nice large manufacturer@APOS@s label. Fitted with @APOS@modifiers@APOS@ - metal guide plates rivetted to the helmet and used in conjunction with the MK.IV series goggles. It is relatively unusual to find B-types fitted with these. Unwired. A nice looking helmet. Stock code H14743.
