RAF Irvin Flying Jacket - Early Pattern

SOLD

Code: SOLD-233

Measures approx. 44@SPEACH@ so should fit 40@SPEACH@. Classic early example with single panel fronts and just one centre seam on the back of the jacket. The leather is reasonably good and supple although @APOS@dull@APOS@ with loss of chromed finish in places. This could be improved with leather dressing. All of the zips are original early @APOS@Deco@APOS@ style DOT brand and in good working condition c/w leather puller tabs. The dense tan fur is excellent although worn at the cuffs and waist. The jacket retains its original belt and collar strap/rings in good used condition. The collar also has the eyelets at the back for the elastic collar strap (strap missing). Some of the seams have been restitched and others are a bit loose and would benefit with more restitching. The original chain hanger is in place as is the Air Ministry marked, 1939 dated label. A nice early jacket with a good used overall appearance. Purchased directly from a 245 Squadron Hurricane/Typhoon pilot. Stock code J15648.
