RAF D-type Oxygen Mask - Early Variant

SOLD

Code: SOLD-174

The cloth is generally in excellent clean condition. Unusually there is little moth damage - this being confined to 2 small holes on the side of the @APOS@nose@APOS@ and another in the @APOS@bottom@APOS@ panel. Other than this there are just a few areas of fraying. None of these are too serious and do not detract greatly from the overall appearance and excellent shape of the mask. The chamois lining is reasonably clean and completely undamaged. As with early variants the chamois stops short of the microphone mounting ring where the hessian/calico interlining can be cleary seen. The mask has been fitted with @APOS@face protector@APOS@ press stud strips at some stage but these have been carefully removed (stitch holes remain). The microphone mounting ring is in excellent condition and complete with reference number stamped into the metal. Not fitted with a microphone or wiring but these can be supplied at extra cost if required. The overall shape of the mask is excellent and ideal for display. This is undoubtedly one of the better D-masks available. Stock code O15182.
