RAF B-type Flying Helmet

SOLD

Code: H3802

By Frank Bryan. Size 4 (71/2 - 73/4). 1941 dated. The overall appearance is good/good '+'. The leather is supple with excellent original finish on the main parts of the helmet. That said, there is some light abrasion at the crown along with faint traces of green paint. Nicely A Crown M embossed.  Both zipped earpieces are good but could do with some leather dressing that wil improve the appearance and colour match to the main helmet. One has quite clear reference markings. The zips on both are in good working order c/w leather puller tags. Both rubber receiver carriers are still in position and the earpieces retain a nice pair of original RCAF sponge cushions.  Both the chinstrap and rearstraps are good but the former lacks the metal end tip. Both of the Bennett buckles retain their leather coverings. The chamois lining is undamaged but quite soiled. Complete with 1941 dated Air Ministry label and A.I.D. marks.  The manufacturer's details have been inked out as per A.M. orders. Faint name details. Sold unwired but we can supply wiring, receivers and microphones at extra cost if required. Overall this is a very good used helmet. Stock code H3802.
