RAF Observer Type Parachute Harness

By The G.Q Parachute Co. Ltd. Stores reference 15A/137. This is a fairly standard 'Observer' harness for use with clip on chest-type parachute packs. It is a genuine RAF/British manufacture example rather than the Canadian manufactured version.Cream/white webbing that unusually (for British harnesses) does not have a central fleck. It does have the fully rounded QR box and large clear label that reads 'Manufactured By The G.Q. Parachute Co. Ltd., Woking', 'Serial No. 25208', 'Type OBSERVER'. Also has A.I.D inspection marks and is date stamped 26 NOV 1940 both on the label and inside the cross straps at the rear. There are also faded King's crown A.M. stamps on both front riser straps. The harness is in good undamaged condition and is reasonably clean. Fitted with a later Irvin Air Chute manufactured backpad, Mk.1 dated 1955. A good '+' / very good used example of these increasingly hard to find harnesses. Stock code S18508.
