WW2 Air-Sea Rescue Game

SOLD

Code: M18241

The Game Of Air-Sea Rescue.  Produced during the war under a royalty arrangement with the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund by Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd.  'A thrilling game based on the splendid work of the Air-Sea Rescue Service in searching for and picking up gallant airmen who have force landed in the sea'.  The colourful playing board is printed on thin war economy card and opens to approximately 50 x 34cm (20 x 13").   A four page printed instruction leaflet gives information about the real life background to the game and instructions on how to play which also state that although based on fact, some things are missed out due to secrecy!

Comes with the cardboard dice shaker, unpainted wooden dice with black spots and all 12 oval cardboard playing pieces,  Each set of 3 pieces with illustrations of a rescue launch, spotter aircraft and airman in a dinghy.  All this and the instructions are contained in the original box.

The board is grubby, stained and has surface damage externally.  The playing side is slightly stained and creased but the colours remain bright and overall condition is good.  The small box is in good order as are the playing pieces.  The instructions are tatty and torn with many repairs but most are still legible.  An interesting and complete wartime game.  Stock code M18241/17734.
