RAF Irvin Flying Jacket

SOLD

Code: J19951

Physically measures approx. 46” so should be suitable for around a 42” chest. Classic early example with single panel fronts and just one centre seam on the back of the jacket. The leather is in very good overall condition retaining much of the original chromed finish and flexibility. The general appearance is equally good although the leather is a bit soiled in places with quite a dark patina.   All  seams appear good and tight. Very good short dense fur typical of pre-war and early war jackets.   The waist and cuff fur is worn but a reasonable amount remains.  The jacket retains original D-o-T zips, all with their original leather puller tags. The notably narrow profile belt is complete and in good condition bar surface wear on the buckle. This example has a chain hanger, collar strap/rings (former a bit worn) and eyelets to the rear of the collar for the elastic 'collar strap' (not present). No label. Overall this is a good +/very good early war example in a decent size. Typical of those worn during the Battle of France and Battle of Britain.  Stock code J19951.
