RAF Type H Oxygen Mask, WW2 Dated

SOLD

Code: O18712

Size Medium. Dated 3-45. Rare wartime dated example of this otherwise relatively common mask. The rubber facepiece is rather dirty but in good condition. Overall shape is reasonable but the left edge (as worn) is folding inwards. The rubber is generally very flexible and there is no cracking even when flexed. The pearl grey suede lining is complete but quite soiled. Fitted with a rather worn looking type 57 microphone assembly and a pink flecked mid tan coloured loom. The harness is complete and retains some elasticity but is faded and grubby. These late war H-masks are very difficult to obtain in any condition and are considerably rarer than a G-type mask. Although this is appears to be a 'tired' example it would look much better if the rubber facepiece was cleaned.  We rate this as fair '+' to quite good used overall. Displays well.  Stock code O18712.
