RAF Type H Oxygen Mask, WW2 Dated

SOLD

Code: O18718

Size Medium. Dated 4-45. Rare wartime dated example of this otherwise relatively common mask. The rubber facepiece is quite clean and in fairly good condition. Overall shape is reasonable but the lower edge is folding inwards and is cracking on the fold lines. Other than this the rubber is suprisingly  flexible.  The pearl grey suede lining is complete but quite heavily soiled and peeling away from the edges slightly. Fitted with a worn looking type 57 microphone assembly and a mid tan coloured loom with correct large 2-pin socket. The harness is complete, though grubby and lacking elasticity.  These late war H-masks are very difficult to obtain in any condition and are considerably rarer than a G-type mask. Although this is appears to be a 'tired' example it would display well and we rate this as fair '+' used overall.  Stock code O18718.
