RAF 1940 Pattern Flying Suit

Suits, Flying, 1940 Pattern, Outer. Unlabelled but appears to be around size 4 or 5. Physically measures 46" pit to pit, 38/40" waist, 29" inside leg, 60" from collar seam to ankle - all measurements approximate, taken externally with suit laid flat and zipped. Early WW2 version of the Sidcot (no wiring). The green cotton material is rather grubby and stained, particularly to the legs, backs of the arms and cuffs. The suit is peppered with small holes - two just above the waist, a couple to the upper right arm, two to the upper back and a small cluster around the waist area at the back. The left leg pocket also has a larger hole and there is another hole adjacent to the left leg zip. Regardless of this damage the suit remains strong and supple. Original chromed zips throughout, various manufacturers including 'N.B Ltd.' & D-o-T'. All are Air Ministry marked, have their original cloth puller tabs and are in excellent working condition. With cloth hanger and belt. Well used and with some damage but in quite good displayable condition. Stock code S19719.
