Chromium plated metal car badge with enamelled 'CAG' lettering. Approximately 12cm span x 5.8cm height. Some wear to the plating and minor chips in the enamel but an incredibly rare item to find. The Civil Air Guard was formed in July 1938 as a way of increasing the number of people holding a pilots licence. Members received government sponsorship towards tuition fees in return for an 'honourable undertaking' to join the RAF Reserve in times of emergency or war. Stock code M20392.
