USAAF Suit, Flying, Summer, Type A-4

Size 42.  A-4 suit in olive drab gaberdine wool.  An early (pre 1943) variant of this one-piece suit with front zip fastener from the fly to the neck, open pocket set at an angle on the right breast and another open pocket on the lower right leg.  Belted at the waist and with zips at the cuffs and ankles for easy donning.  The material is generally in very good to excellent clean condition with only a few very small snagged/mothed areas that do not detract.  Missing the male parts of two pop studs at the ankle (see photos). The 'Crown' zips are all original and most have their leather puller tabs.  The main zip looks fine and works quite well but does have some damage at the bottom and has been stitched over to avoid further problems - this damage is not seen unless you look for it.  The only other problem is one leg zip which has lost some teeth - it is currently closed and probably best left that way.  Remaining zips are complete and functional but would benefit from careful lubrication as they are a little stiff to operate.  Complete with original belt, chain hanger and label.  Far better condition than most A-4s that turn up.  Stock code S21023.
