USAAF Winter Flying Cap, Type B-2

USAAF Cap, Flying, Winter, Type B-2.  By Werber Sportswear of Newburgh, New York. Size 6^3/4. Constructed from 1/4" sheep shearling with a seal brown poly-acrylate finish. The cap features a large stiff peak and folding 'ear' flap. Although introduced for aircrews in 1939 it remained popular with aircrew and groundcrews throughout the war - particularly bomber crews with the 8th AAF when worn with a headset and mask. Overall condition is very good to excellent with relatively minor surface rubbing and the odd small nick but nothing too serious or detrimental. Full AAF labelling with 1943 contract date.
