USAAF Type A-4 QAC Parachute Pack

Type A4 Quick Attachable Chest (QAC) Pack. Manufactured by Fashion Frocks Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Part No. 43J26406. Group 2 'Yellow' pack for the quick attachable chest type parachute harness. Olive drab cotton duck material with heavy webbing grab handles on 3 sides. Yellow patch sewn to the ripcord flap indicating that this is a Group 2 'Yellow' pack. Complete with cadmium plated steel loops for attaching to the harness. Also fitted with correct ripcord handle/ripcord amd bungees (the latter not all matching and may be replacements). Marked with part numbers, serial number and clear September 20th 1944 manufacture date. The pack itself is empty (stuffed for photographing only). It still has the parachute log book (AAF Form 46) marked with correct/matched serial number and entries/inspections for late 1944 to 1948. Light soiling and wear but in excellent used condition overall. Stock code S21136.
